i've scoured all of the runway looks (well, almost all of them...i'm still working on it), but click here to check out my evolving book of favorites from new york spring 2009 fashion week. enjoy!

the tinier, the better
take a gander at this new york times article on tiny houses!
though i'm not entirely sure i could live in an 84 square foot home (heck...my manhattan studio is bigger than that!), there's a certain feeling of liberation that goes along with it. i mean, do we really need that much stuff?
the models return
has anyone in manhattan noticed a spike in the number of models on the island? well, it's fashion week again, folks. stay tuned for some of my favorites from the spring 2009 ready-to-wear collections. to tide you over, here are a couple snippets from yesterday's shows...

for the birds
as much as i think i'm going to get sick of the "cute little birds" trend, it simply hasn't happened yet...

mobile @ spool (i'm making one of these for the apartment!)
pendant lamp @ perch!
place mat @ atypyk
keep calm and carry on...
i know these have been making the blog rounds as of late, but i think i'm gonna get me one of these posters to hang above my desk at the office:
love it. it's a vintage poster commissioned by the british government in 1939 to be posted in times of "crisis or invasion." hehehe. i'm thinking it should get a distressed, barn-looking wood frame.

we're back, i swear.
i got a new apron recently, and it's just about the best thing in the world. i liked cooking before, but now i just want to hang around the kitchen all day chopping vegetables in this pretty little number:
maybe next i'll get matching oven mitts...

oh, dear!
hi, friends. it seems that life beyond the laptop has been preventing my posting!
well, it's summer, so perhaps i should officially be on summer vacation. it's a nice thought, but probably not a realistic possibility. more posts, soon, i promise!
in the meantime, check out the sartorialist.
musique concrète
okay, this has nothing to do music. but it does have to do with accessories by designer tove adman made of concrete. i wouldn't want to have to haul them home from the store, but they sure look nice:
